From Model UN Sponsor Mr. Ralph Monahan:

Please congratulate the BHS MUN members on an excellent showing at the William & Mary Conference this past weekend.  These students took part in discussions ranging from human trafficking to ecotourism to selecting a Republican Presidential Candidate for 2020.  They even debated the best economic system for a future planetary colony.  It led to some excellent discussions and resolutions.  It's truly amazing what these young people can solve over a few days time.
  • Blair Rary & Rainah Ward representing Singapore in the United Nations Environment Assembly debated the impacts of ecotourism.
  • Amanda McDaniel & Ben Willis representing Singapore debated environmentally responsible & sustainable trade in the World Trade Organization.
  • Rahwa Yehdego & Alex Kwong representing Singapore discussed how nations should best come together to end child trafficking in the Special Political Committee.
  • Alex Luchtenberg debated how the international community should respond to Gender-Based Violence & Honor Killings in the UN Women's Committee.
  • Jay Moody represented Sen. John McCain in the RNC 2020 and debated over who to nominate as the Republican Presidential candidate for the 2020 Election.
  • Shiza Khan represented Nelson Mandela in the Economic Council, which was a diverse group of renowned economic figures and global leaders that spanned eras of history to debate the pros and cons of various economic principles and debate the best economic system to introduce in a fictional future colony.
