Congratulations to our Salutatorian, Allyson Miller!

Miller’s activities include varsity field hockey, varsity softball, and volunteering as a tutor at Becky’s Buckroe Florist.

She was accepted to the College of William and Mary, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Christopher Newport University. She has decided to attend the College of William and Mary and major in kinesiology. Miller plans to become a pediatric occupational therapist and hopes to travel following college graduation.

Fondest high school memory:
“(My fondest high school memory is) my senior season of softball.”

A tradition at your school you will miss:
“I will miss spirit weeks.”

An achievement you are most proud of:
“(I am most proud of) being able to play a sport and have a job while maintaining my grades and social life all at the same time.”

I am proud to be an HCS graduate because:
“I am proud to graduate from Hampton City Schools because my school isn’t preppy and pretentious, so it has prepared me for all types of people and situations.”

If you could thank a teacher who had the greatest impact on you, who would it be and why?
“I would thank Mr. Kidd. I’ve had him for three years in a row and he’s had the greatest impact on me. He pushes me to reach my full potential and also encouraged me to start tutoring other students in math.”
